If you are the one providing hands on care,
lets evaluate how much responsibility you have for parent care. For this next
section, take a look at the level of your "hands on" involvement. If you and
your spouse or a sibling are "sharing the caring" complete this next section for
each family caregiver and then total the hours.

No one person has unlimited time. No one person can provide
unlimited care for a loved one. No matter how much we care about this person, doing it all
is an impossible task. Anything more than 20 hours per week is serious
caregiving, and
odds are that you wont be able to do it alone for very long without experiencing
serious disruption in several areas of your own life. No one should expect you to provide
this care alone, either.
Everyone has "Plan A" for your parents care.
Part of the work at The Caring Connection, P.C.,
involves creating and implementing "Plan B". The contingency plan for when and
if things fall apart. As a caregiver and a professional, I anticipate problems based on
the information you provide and come up with a solution that meets everyones needs.
As you have completed this review, you should have a good idea
about how your parent is able to manage and about how much help they need. If you are not
sure where to turn, or have more questions, e-mail us at info@caringconnection.com and
well get you an answer as soon as possible. |
